I am off to a slow start on my 30 Projects in 30 Days task list. We were on vacation through Labor Day which took which took a bite out of the first few days of the month. Nonetheless, I remain undaunted, and I do have one bit of progress to share. I painted the inside of the door of one of our main entrances.
Photography in this hall is my arch nemesis, and this door looks black. However, it is our very favorite leftover Hale Navy. (All hail! Hale Navy.) This door, which is not original, was light green, of course. Everything here was green at some point.
Even though the plan for this hall is a work in progress, I knew I wanted a dramatic focal point looking towards the outside. The main exterior door is red, but that just seemed a little too blinding for an interior door.
Up close, it is easier to see that the door is deep blue instead of black. Please be sure to ignore the inside of the porch. It is still a hot mess of pale moldy green.
The original brass doorknob and the deadbolt, in contrast with the Hale Navy, make me inordinately happy. Since I am not a designer or decorator, when I get something right, it gives me a little thrill. Even though it is an entirely random occurrence, I cannot help but pat myself on the back a little. Perhaps that desire for shallow validation is a sign that my life needs deeper meaning. I will reflect on that while I am working on the projects on my to-do list. Or I might not because I will probably forget.
Now, it’s your turn. Let me know how you are doing with your list. You have a few options to make that happen.
- If you are a blogger; I created a link-up for you at the bottom of the page. Please keep your linked posts related to the 30 Projects in 30 Days challenge. You may link more than one post.
- Tag me on Instagram and remember to hashtag your posts using the #30ProjectsIn30Days hashtag.
- Give me a shout in the comments section here on the blog.
- Send me an e-mail.
Participants will be entered into a drawing, and one will be randomly chosen to win a prize. I will announce the winner on October 3rd.
Now, I’m off to work!
