Podcast Scrapbook: Our First Field Trip

Last week, I took a whirlwind trip to New Albany, Indiana, and Louisville, Kentucky, to record some episodes of the podcast. My videographer and photographer friend, Drew, joined me to document the trip and provide sound tech.

The first True Tales From Old Houses podcast road trip by the numbers: Eighteen (18) hours in the car, 5 states, 3 locations, 3 future episodes of the podcast, 3 towns called New Albany, 2 new friends, 1 iconic candy story, 1 dead body (I can explain! …later.), 1 mansion, hours of video to edit, and Drew and I remain friends. I’m calling it a success.

The only thing that would have made it better is if Devyn could have been there too.

Once Drew and I wade through all the video and audio, I’ll release the three episodes that we recorded. In the meantime, here are a few photos of the iconic locations that we visited on our speedy trip south.

Somehow, I did not take a photo of the front of the Culbertson Mansion at all. How is that even possible? I took a ton of other pictures, but here are just a couple.

While you are waiting for the content from our field trip, you can enjoy Episode #24, The Greener Good and the Neighborhood.

Finally, if you are enjoying the podcast, there are a few ways, monetarily and not, that you can show your support.

Thank you for listening! If there is an episode you want us to create, let me know in the comments. I always love your ideas.
